Beware of fraudsters impersonating NOA DG – Official

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has advised the general public to beware of fraudsters impersonating the Director General of the Agency, Mallam Issa-Onilu with claims and services not within the core mandate of the Agency.

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has advised the general public to beware of fraudsters impersonating the Director General of the Agency, Mallam Issa-Onilu with claims and services not within the core mandate of the Agency.

In a statement, the Deputy Director of Press, Paul Odenyi, noted that the operations of the Agency are not conducted on the social media and therefore it is not the channel for the official notification of the directive of the Director General.

He state,”It has come to the notice of the National Orientation Agency, (NOA) of the increasing activities of fraudsters who use the name of our Director General to prey on unsuspecting members of the public, especially on social media, with claims and services not within the core mandate of the Agency.

“In the last three months, several telephone numbers including +2347032586076, Whatsapp accounts, social media profiles have been used to contact members of the public claiming to belong to the Director General, Mallam lanre Issa-Onilu.

“The Agency wishes to clarify that operations of the Agency are not conducted on the social media and therefore it is not the channel for the official notification of the directive of the Director General.”

“The Agency wishes to clarify that operations of the Agency are not conducted on the social media and therefore it is not the channel for the official notification of the directive of the Director General.”

Odenyi advised members of the public to consult the official website of the Agency to access authentic information and updates about the activities and operation of the NOA.

“For authentic information and updates about the activities and operation of the NOA, we advise strongly that members of the public should verify through the official website of the Agency, WWW.noa.gov.ng or interact with the artificial intelligence (AI) enabled voice and text assistant, CLHEEAN.

“Additionally, you can relate with us on our updated social media hubs: Facebook:National Orientation Agency Nigeria, X, tiktok,Instagram and youtube : noa_Nigeria.

“We implore members of the public to exercise vigilance and prudence when approached with unverified offers or announcement regarding the activities of the agency,” he stated.
